The Chandigarh district court has summoned a confidential investigation report from the Central Bureau of Investigation in the kidnapping case of dentist Dr Mohit Dhawan. Special Judicial Magistrate Neelam issued the order.

The incident dates back to 7 January 2022 and occurred near the district court gate in Sector 43 and the ISBT. Nine police personnel, including then-inspector Harinder Singh Sekhon and sub-inspector Suresh Kumar, are accused in the case.

Allegations involving police personnel

According to the complainant, the conspiracy to kidnap was hatched within a WhatsApp group that included multiple police officers.

The court has directed the CBI to submit the complete confidential investigation report, spanning from the FIR to the chargesheet, in a sealed envelope.
