The Mohali court granted anticipatory bail to Gajpat Singh Grewal on 31 October 2026 in a disproportionate assets case. Gajpat Singh Grewal is the brother-in-law of former minister Bikram Singh Majithia.

Vigilance bureau states custodial interrogation not needed

During the hearing in the court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau clarified that custodial interrogation of Grewal was not required. Following this, the court granted the relief.

Background of the case

This entire matter is linked to the FIR registered on the petition of DSP Inderpal Singh. Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed the proceedings to declare Grewal a proclaimed offender.
