A special CBI court in Panchkula delivered a significant ruling on the death case of 19-year-old play-school teacher Manisha in Bhiwani, Haryana. The court rejected the Central Bureau of Investigation closure report which had classified the death as suicide.

Court orders fresh probe

The court ordered a fresh and renewed investigation into the matter. Manisha's body was recovered from the fields of Singhani village on 13 August 2025, initiating the legal proceedings.

Investigation under IPS officer

Following the new court orders, the further investigation into this episode will now be conducted under the leadership of a CBI IPS officer. This case was handed over to the CBI for investigation on 26 August 2025.
