The carcass of a leopard has been found in the Charch area under the Pohri subdivision of Shivpuri district. The carcass was discovered inside a drain within the Indrukhi forest beat.

Upon receiving information about the recovery on Saturday evening, a team from the forest department reached the spot, took the carcass into custody, and launched an investigation into the matter.

According to officials, the age of the dead leopard is estimated to be around 7 to 8 years. However, the carcass was found in a decomposed state, and it is suspected to be several days old.

Forest DFO Sudhanshu Yadav stated that, prima facie, the death of the leopard appears to be natural. The actual cause of death will be revealed only after the post-mortem examination scheduled for Sunday.
