An official national patent has been granted for 'gomay samiddha', a product prepared from cow dung and paddy straw by founders in Jaipur. The CSIR-NEERI institute in Nagpur provided assistance in developing this product.
Collaboration and composition of the product
The product is a special blend of indigenous cow dung, paddy straw, and Vedic havan samagri. According to founders Dr. Sitaram Gupta and Aditi Gupta, its use could save about two crore trees annually from being cut down for cremations.
Claims regarding environmental impact
Additionally, it is claimed that the use of this samiddha will prevent the emission of 90 lakh tonnes of toxic carbon dioxide gas. However, these figures regarding the saving of trees and reduction in carbon emissions are estimated claims rather than proven facts from actual use.
