Tight security arrangements have been put in place in view of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's upcoming visit to Karnal. During the event, the Home Minister is scheduled to walk approximately 400 metres on foot.

Security deployment and checking

A total of 1300 male and female police personnel have been deployed for security management. Additionally, police checking operations are continuously underway at hotels, dharamshalas, and prominent locations across the city.

BJP leader Smriti Irani inspected the venue late Tuesday night. Meanwhile, police have detained 20 to 22 people who had announced plans to show black flags in demand of a UGC rollback.

High-level review and detentions

Additional Director General of Police Sanjay Kumar and CID ADGP Saurabh Singh held a high-level security review meeting with officials.
