Design platform Canva has announced a workforce reduction of over 22 percent. According to company Chief Executive Officer Melanie Perkins, the decision will impact at least 1,271 employees.

Canva has 5,700 workers across 37 countries worldwide, including India. However, it has not yet been determined which teams or countries will face the layoffs.

The company will provide departing employees with a MacBook and a one-year LinkedIn Premium subscription. Additionally, affected staff will receive 12 months of healthcare coverage and access to an employee assistance program.

According to information provided by Canva, affected employees will also be given the opportunity to apply for a 10,000 dollar grant to start their own businesses.
