The festival of Diwali will be celebrated on November 8, 2026. On this occasion, various traditional rituals and decorations are carried out in homes, holding cultural and religious significance.
Main entrance decorations
There is a tradition of hanging a toran made of mango leaves and marigold flowers on the main entrance. Along with this, a rangoli or mandana is created at the gateway, and a water-filled kalash is placed.
Worship rituals and offerings
On Diwali, footsteps of Goddess Lakshmi are drawn from the main entrance to the place of worship. During the worship, khil-batasha prasad is offered to Goddess Lakshmi.
According to religious beliefs, lotus, parijat, hibiscus, mallika, kamalini, malati, and marigold are considered to be the favorite flowers of Goddess Lakshmi.
