The United States has announced that it will stop providing four billion dollars in annual military aid to Israel starting in the year 2027. US President Donald Trump made this major announcement on Tuesday.

Proposal from Netanyahu

This proposal was reportedly put forward by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself. Both nations had entered into a ten-year military aid agreement in 2016.

Aid since the Gaza conflict

Following the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023, the US provided Israel with approximately two lakh crore rupees in military assistance. Following Trump's announcement, an official statement from Israel is currently awaited.
