Police in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district have arrested three accused with 21 lakh rupees in cash. The action was taken on October 31, 2026, in the Rajadera forest area under the Mainpur police station jurisdiction.

Recovery and arrests

According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Singe alias Roshni, Budhri Muchaki alias Soni, and Nohar Markam. Apart from 21 lakh rupees in cash, three mobile phones and a TVS bike were also recovered from their possession.

Allegations and legal action

The accused are alleged to have extorted money from contractors and common citizens. Police have taken action in this case under sections 308(2) and 61(2) of the BNS, and sections 17, 18, 20, 38, and 40 of the UAPA.
