Meitei organisations took out a rally in Manipur's capital Imphal on Saturday. The rally was organised by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI).

Demonstrators demanded the cancellation of the suspension of operation agreement with Kuki militants.

Naga bodies extend support

The United Naga Council (UNC), the apex body of Naga organisations, supported the rally. Additionally, rallies were organised by Naga organisations in Senapati and Chandel districts.

Demands for resignations

Committee coordinator Y. Dhiren demanded the resignation of the government. Meanwhile, in Senapati district, a demand was raised for the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen.

Ethnic violence has been ongoing in the state since May 2023.
