A French Navy Rafale Marine fighter jet landed on the Indian Navy's indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on October 29. During this testing phase, French pilots flew the combat aircraft.

India has not yet received the Rafale Marine aircraft. Currently, both Indian ships INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya utilize STOBAR technology.

future acquisition plans

According to Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, India plans to purchase 114 Rafale fighter jets. A decision on this Rafale Marine acquisition project is expected by the end of this financial year.
