A case of lacking road connectivity has emerged from Masdhari village, located eight kilometres away from the Littipada block headquarters in Pakur district.
On November 4, after a woman experienced labour pains, villagers laid her on a cot and carried her four kilometres to reach the main road.
Lack of road prevents ambulance access
Due to the absence of a road leading up to the village, an ambulance could not reach the location. Following the incident, the district administration took cognisance of the matter.
According to Amit Kumar, OSD to the Deputy Commissioner, a detailed report has been sought from the Civil Surgeon.
Administration seeks report as villagers demand road
Necessary guidelines have also been issued to the Civil Surgeon in this regard. Meanwhile, village head Baida Paharia and other villagers have demanded a survey of the village and the prompt construction of a road.
