Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta passed away on Friday night after suffering a fall at his home in Versova. According to Mumbai Police, he sustained severe head injuries due to the fall inside the house. He was 59 years old.

Sanjay Gupta had recently written the script for the film Kabil 2, which was well-liked by Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan.

His last rites were performed on Saturday evening at the Versova crematorium. During the ceremony, his son Shivansh and daughter Dalai lit the funeral pyre.
