The parikrama of Kamadgiri hill in Chitrakoot is approximately 5 kilometres long, passing through both Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The Kamtanath temple is situated at the foothills of this same Kamadgiri hill.

Gupt Godavari caves entry status

The Gupt Godavari caves are located about 18 kilometres away from Chitrakoot. Entry of devotees into these caves was prohibited following heavy rainfall and rockfall incidents in August and September 2026.

Bharatup and Ram Van Gaman Path

Additionally, Bharatkup is situated about 20 kilometres west of Chitrakoot. This area is included among the Ram Van Gaman Path yatra and its associated religious sites.

It is stated that devotees are likely to be granted re-entry into the Gupt Godavari caves only after the completion of geological investigations and safety-related works.
